Thank You!

We would like to thank everyone that made it out to the show tuesday night. It really means a lot to us. We had such a great time sharing the end of this chapter with you. We hope that you will also join in the experience of this next exciting chapter in our lives. We would be nowhere if it weren’t for our loving and supportive fans. Thanks for being there with us whether you’ve just found out about us or have been supporting us for the past four years.

We’re excited to get this new project underway. For now, you can download ‘Ruckus’ for free at our website – THE YOUNG INTERNATIONAL

Fresh Start

After four amazing years, Lórien will be playing their final show.  From the infant stages of our band to right now, the five of us have been as close as family.  Despite the tremendous circumstances, it was no accident that we were brought together, nor was it an accident that our paths met with those of you who are reading this right now.  These years have been a remarkable ride and we walk away from them joyful and forever grateful to those of you who supported us, fed us, housed us, watched us and sang with us.

This decision comes at a time of transition.  As the seasons changed outside our windows, the landscape of our individual lives and the bands life began shifting as well.  When Cara’s departure became certain, the future of Lórien became more uncertain.  We had spent these years building something together, something that we intended and had always hoped to finish together.  We became a puzzle with missing pieces, a house with no roof.  Therefore we decided to put our efforts to rest as Lórien.

Lórien will play its last notes in Nashville at the Rutledge on April 27th.

Lórien merchandise will still be available. The $5 online sale is ongoing until stock runs out. If you haven’t had a chance to, take a look at the new online store and most recent release, The Missing Collection, exclusively available through Bandcamp.

But with every ending, there is always a new beginning.  With Lórien fading behind, the surviving members are engrossing themselves in an exciting new project.  We have locked ourselves away and working night and day on our most exciting endeavor to date. Spring has brought a new energy along with new sounds and a new attitude.  May we introduce you to THE YOUNG INTERNATIONAL.

We also wanted to give you another quick reminder about our ongoing merch sale. You can still get ANY T-shirt for just $5 in our online store.

Goings-on

Dear Friends,

I sit here tonight at 2 AM for two reasons… ONE: It has been a very long time since we have blogged, seeing as this is a blog website and there isn’t much blogging going on (except of course Chase, who does a fine job of keeping you all up to date), and TWO: I wanted to let you know about the goings-on of Lórien and our friends.

We are blessed to be part of an amazing community here in Nashville. Every single one of our friends have amazing talents and are never afraid to pursue them, no matter the number of Starbucks White Mochas they have to make or how many students they substitute teach. For those reasons, I figured we should let you know about some cool things that are happening. First off, our good friend and roommate Andrew Belle will be featured on Grey’s Anatomy tonight (tonight being Thursday… I always feel weird saying tonight whenever its that weird morning/night time 2 am stage). Anyway, you might like the show or you might not, but regardless, listen up for Static Waves in the background somewhere. And if you haven’t already bought his latest album, The Ladder, check it out (www.andrewbelle.com).

In other news, our good friends Farewell Flight are on tour. We have known and toured with them for years now and they are the best band you’ve never heard. Seriously, if you don’t believe me, go to their myspace and listen. If you like what you hear, they’re playing all sorts of dates all of over the east side of our great nation. So go support some live music, and tell them Lórien sent you.

As for us, we are writing, recording, writing, recording, eating, and then recording eating while we write. It’s a fun process, but the only downside is that we don’t really get to come out to our favorite venues and play for you guys. Actually, we do have one show coming up and it is a Haiti benefit concert @ The Mercy Lounge in Nashville with Shirock, Katie Herzig, The Family Tree, and Heidi Rojas. 100% of proceeds go to the relief effort in Haiti, so come on out for a great cause. Join our facebook group and invite everyone you know!

That is all for now.

Peace,
Thomas

P.S. The people who brought you Planet Earth have a new show called Life. Watch it! It is awesome. Animals are the coolest. Oprah isn’t quite as good as Sigourney Weaver or that old British guy, but it is still quality I assure you.
